History
The company hansgrohe was founded in 1901 in the Black Forest in Germany. Hansgrohe can therefore now look back on over 120 years of experience, which is reflected today in the quality and know-how. Hansgrohe counts as the brand name in the bathroom world. The master clothier Hans Grohe was certainly not aware that this would one day be the case when he moved from Luckenwalde near Berlin to the Black Forest town of Schiltach in 1899. It was the time when the private home bathroom was still in its infancy and was only gradually coming into fashion. The tin showers that were developed laid the foundation for the undreamt-of triumphal march. In the course of the 20th century, the company became a global enterprise. Hans Grohe was the pioneer of the German sanitary industry and, at the late age of 82, invented something that was unique until then: the shower bar, on which the hand shower can be fixed at any height. Today, hansgrohe is a bathroom and sanitation specialist with around 5,000 employees on all continents. In 2017, the company cracked a total turnover of 1.077 billion euros with its hansgrohe brand and the AXOR brand. Hansgrohe repeatedly emphasizes that its success is due solely to its employees, who work for the company every day with the utmost passion and innovative strength.
